Steve Binnie

Steve’s Dismantle story started a few years before he joined the board as a major champion for establishing BikeRescue Local in the greater Karratha region. With decades of experience in leadership positions in the mining sector for Powertech, and as a board member for other NFP’s over the years, Steve understands the delicate balance of bringing a business mindset to a non-profit environment.

“I first discovered Dismantle when looking for an organisation that met the requirements of Powertech’s social context. Powertech support organisations that engage disadvantaged young people. We also commit to a singular non-profit in each region of operation so that we can make a difference through focussed financial, in-kind or staff volunteering support. Once we heard the Dismantle story, the team in our Perth office were very inspired and we’ve never looked back.

Having met both the operational team and the board, everyone is aligned with a very optimistic view that we will be having an even greater impact on the disadvantaged in our community over the next few years. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity.” 

Steve’s passion and commitment to social impact, coupled with his many years experience leading successful business pursuits, makes him a valuable addition to the Dismantle board.
