Dismantle is thrilled to welcome some accomplished new additions to its Board of Directors in Alison Kwok, Alex Humphry and Gordon Jeffrey. Alison and Alex, both Social Ventures Australia (SVA) alumni, bring a wealth of social-sector experience to Dismantle.
With a Masters' degree in Management and Strategy from the London School of Economics, Alex has more than a decade of international experience in impact investment and venture philanthropy. She is now based at Impact Seed, driving strategies to grow Impact Investing and Impact Advisory in WA.
Alison, a management consultant in the impact measurement field at SVA, has spent many years advising a range of clients including peak community not-for-profits, large corporates and state governments.
Gordon, who first began volunteering his time several years ago in advisory capacity through his Executive Manager position at Westpac, has now officially joined ranks. Gordon bring his extensive corporate and banking career experience to Dismantle, advising in the key areas of financial strategy compliance and risk.
As a Board, we are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity, valuing the rich thinking and energy that new members bring to the organisation. Alison, Alex and Gordon have already made a significant impact into their roles since joining us at the start of the year. One of our initiatives as a Board is to implement sub-committees, with a Board member chairing each subcommittee. This allows for more agile governance and support from the Board in supporting the management team of Dismantle to drive change and impact. - Robert Knott, Chair
Robert Knott, who joined the Board of Directors in 2019, has commenced the year in his new role as Chair. Rob’s comprehensive career in innovation, strategy and leadership, currently at BHP, makes him the ideal candidate to steer Dismantle into its next chapter of growth and development.
I am excited to take on the role of Chair for Dismantle. Over the last few years we have battled the challenges of Covid and growth, and are at a real inflection point in the history of Dismantle. As we continue to grow, I am focused on ensuring that the energy and support that our team provide young people is done in a sustainable and collaborative manner to make Dismantle a fantastic place to work and one that can take on the future opportunities that are available to it with confidence that we will not waiver of quality of support and care. - Robert Knott, Chair
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you and farewell to two long-serving Board members, Phil Renshaw and Paul Lewis. Dedicating many years to Dismantle, they have been instrumental in shaping Dismantle into what it is today and how we’re positioned for the future.
Phil and Paul both provided leadership and guidance through a pivotal moment at Dismantle. During their time we started a new social enterprise that now generates a third of both our revenue and impact. With their commitment to youth outcomes alongside strong business acumen, we have managed our growth and are now in a position to take on more significant opportunities in collaboration with the youth and social enterprise sector in WA. - Pat Ryan, CEO
