RENEW PROPERTY MAINTENANCE JOINS WALGA’S PREFERRED SUPPLIER LIST
Dismantle’s social enterprise, ReNew Property Maintenance, has joined a list of vetted and preferred local businesses to service Western Australian local government contracts.
Previously accredited by leading industry organisations including CBRE, Programmed, Colliers International and Spotless, the recent WALGA announcement underscores ReNew’s competitive and professional service offering to the local government sector.
Dismantle, a leading youth development NFP in WA, works to engage at-risk young people by providing hands on, skills-based experience and wrap around psychological support. ReNew, a recently developed subsidiary of Dismantle, works with Perth businesses to fulfil commercial property maintenance needs and create much needed entry level employment opportunities for teens unlikely to get their foot in the door, otherwise.
“Youth unemployment is an enduring and escalating concern for WA, having the second highest youth unemployment rates in the country. The lack of entry level opportunities for young people makes long term employment prospects very grim and the national burden on social infrastructure and loss to GDP is somewhere in the field of $16B.
The best thing we can do to empower young people to live their lives in a self-directed way, is to give them a job. What we’ve seen so far from our recruits is enormous motivation and enthusiasm on the job, some of them travelling 4 hours return from Mandurah just to have the opportunity. Client feedback has also been overwhelmingly positive, and we are thrilled with the number of socially minded corporates who have jumped at the chance to push their dollar beyond the bottom line and back into the community. To have WALGA behind us is both encouraging and a great sign for the direction of government led social procurement in WA.” Pat Ryan, CEO.
